Community Grant Program

Apex Clean Energy is pleased to support educators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers in Cass County. One small way we can do this is by giving back through the Onward Solar Community Grant program.

If you represent a group or organization that meets one of our four key funding categories (see below), we encourage you to complete the application below and apply today. While grant dollars are limited, our goal is to fund projects and programs which build healthy communities, create economic opportunity, encourage environmental sustainability and promote education. Applications will be considered as they are received.

A) Building Healthy Communities:

Programs that support recreation and leisure opportunities and/or promote a healthy lifestyle. This would include athletic events or equipment and public health initiatives.

B) Community & Economic Development:

Programs that support economic development and enhance the quality of community life. Applicants must demonstrate how the program or event contributes to these social goals.

C) Environmental Sustainability:

Programs that possess a strong link to environmental revitalization or education, promote conservation, empower residents to be stewards of the environment, and/or encourage partnerships to address environmental concerns. Organizations must have a credible record of success in environmental performance.

D) Promoting Education:

Programs that support K-12 and higher educational institutions. This includes curriculum development, literacy, STEM programs, school readiness, and other initiatives that help students become successful adults. Vocational training institutions that help to build a skilled workforce to support the local community are included.
